The launch party was held at the Edison Ballroom at 240 West 47th Street. There was no signage or a point person to direct traffic for the crowds who had lined up for two hours. Once the line started moving, it came to a standstill causing fans to wonder if they would be admitted. Later, a second line formed and it was not clear if there was a press line. If you could get past the disorganization, it was well worth the wait. Once inside the intimate space, there was a party atmosphere with an open bar and hors d”oeuvres for the fans while they were waiting for the concert to begin.
And then the music started, the lights flashed and the crowd was pumped. McGraw rocked the stage as he sang songs from his new album, Damn Country Music. The genre sounds like a blend of country and rock, a type of crossover feel of country heart and acoustics.
Damn Country Music was produced by Byron Gallimore. Its lead single is the familiar “Top Of The World,” which has so far peaked at No. 21 on Billboard’s Country Airplay chart. The standard edition contains 11 tracks and with 3 bonus tracks on the deluxe”
