Registration now open for Asolo Rep Summer Camps
June 12-Aug. 4, Ages 6-14
(SARASOTA, FLA) — Asolo Repertory Theatre’s Education & Engagement team announces an exciting lineup of creative camps for young artists ages 6 to 14 this summer. The weeklong sessions run June 12 through Aug. 4, and each week of camp brings a new and exciting theme, so campers can choose to attend more than one session. Campers can also attend partial weeks, choosing their own adventure by picking which days they’d like to attend. Participants of all experience levels will have the opportunity to blossom and hone their theatrical skills in a creative, playful and welcoming environment. No experience necessary – theatre is for everyone!
June 12-16: Artistic Adventures
This new half day camp at Out of Door Academy, Uihlein Campus in Lakewood Ranch uses theatrical skills from all elements of the art form to encourage campers to use their imaginations, to express their ideas and to explore their world through theatre.
June 19-23: Courageous Creating
This new half day camp at Out of Door Academy, Uihlein Campus in Lakewood Ranch is perfect for young artists with big imaginations! Campers will collaborate with Teaching Artists, using elements of performance, storytelling and design to devise an original story complete with unique characters and settings.
June 26-30: Creator Camp
Asolo Rep collaborates with Sarasota Contemporary Dance for Creator Camp: a space for young artists to imagine, explore and discover through stories. Young Artists will work with professional teaching artists to use dance, drama and art to construct stories and performances of their own creation.
July 3-7: Drama Days!
Drama Days invites campers to experience a different theatre adventure every day. Students do not need a background in theatre or to enjoy performing to have a great time – they just need to bring their imagination and be ready to play, collaborate and create!
July 10-14: Quest!
Check your stats, look for traps and roll the dice. Do you love role-playing games like Dungeons and Dragons? Test your strategy, create new characters and set off on an epic journey with fellow explorers.
July 17-21: Miniature Worlds
Imagine thrilling planets, fascinating histories and spectacular civilizations. With a cardboard box and a spark of inspiration, what kind of world will you create?
July 24-28: Twisted Tales
What happens when familiar stories explode into something brand new? With a little theatre magic, team up with fellow creators to discover bold takes on beloved tales.
July 31-Aug. 4: Trash Into Treasure
The most incredible treasures are often hidden in plain sight. In this camp, young artists will explore the world of theatrical design, turning overlooked objects into extraordinary inventions.
Early Bird pricing is available now through May 15th. Each week of camp is $200 with morning and aftercare available for an additional cost.
