RANGERS TRADE C CHRIS GIMENEZ TO CLEVELAND INDIANS
IN EXCHANGE FOR FUTURE CONSIDERATIONS

Arlington, Texas – The Texas Rangers announced this afternoon that the club has traded catcher Chris Gimenez (pronounced JIM-ehn-ehz) to the Cleveland Indians in exchange for future considerations. Gimenez has been assigned from Triple-A Round Rock to the Indians’ major league roster.
Gimenez batted .262 with 11 RBI in 34 games over two stints for the Rangers this season. He was designated for assignment by Texas on August 7 after three days on the MLB Paternity Leave List and assigned outright to Round Rock on August 12. He has appeared in 7 games since re-joining Round Rock, batting .400 (10-25) with 2 home runs and 6 RBI.
