PRODUCTION BEGINS FOR TELEMUNDO’S SUPER SERIES “SEÑORA ACERO,” STARRING BLANCA SOTO
Filmed in Mexico, this New Original Production Tells the Story of a Woman who Goes From Being an Ordinary Housewife, to Being the Most Wanted Women in her Country
MIAMI, FL – July 28, 2014 – Telemundo Studios announces the beginning of filming for the new original production, “Señora Acero,” starring Blanca Soto in her network debut. Written by Roberto Stopello (“La Reina del Sur”) and directed by actor and director Miguel Varoni and Walter Doehner (“La Reina del Sur”), the super series features a stellar cast, including Andrés Palacios, Rebecca Jones and Litzy, and the special participation of Damián Alcázar. Filmed on location in different locations surrounding Mexico City, “Señora Acero” tells the story of Sara Aguilar Bermúdez (Blanca Soto), a beautiful, charismatic and intelligent woman who goes from being a housewife with an ordinary life to a person capable of shaking the very foundations of her country’s government.
After the shocking murder of her husband, Vicente Acero, Sara learns that he was not the man she thought he was. From that moment on, Sara and her son must run for their lives to evade the authorities and Victor’s enemies.
Early on in her new and more complicated life, Sara meets Aracely (Litzy), a lovely young woman who becomes her best friend. Aracely is generous and passionate but has a terrible addiction to drugs. She helps Sara find her first job at a hair salon run by Enriqueta (Rebecca Jones), a professional con artist who performs illegal and dangerous plastic surgeries and is also corrupt.
Little by little, life’s twists and turns transform Sara from a sweet and gentle mother into a strong-willed and distrustful woman. Love returns to her life in the form of Eliodoro Flores Tarso (Andrés Palacios), a brilliant, calculating and intuitive policeman who accompanies her on her path to power until she becomes “the queen of organized crime.” Sara has two formidable weapons – her beauty and her intelligence – that help open doors for her in a hostile world. She soon becomes infamous as “Señora Acero,” (the “Woman of Steel”), until the day that the president of a Mexican Republic puts a price on her head.
“Señora Acero” is an original Telemundo Studios production filmed by Argos Televisión, with Martha Godoy (“La Reina del Sur”, “El Señor de los Cielos”) as executive producer. In addition to the lead actors, the production has a star-studded supporting cast, including special appearances by Arap Bethke and Rossana San Juan alongside Marco Pérez, Jorge Zárate, Carmen Madrid, Arturo Barba, Luciana Silveyra, Valentina Acosta, Pilar Ixquic Mata, Andrés Zuñiga, Viviana Serna, Juan Carlos Martín del Campo, Aurora Gil, Alejandro Caso Hector Berzunza, Sergio Lozano, Iñaki Goci, Alex Perazza, Raul Aranda Lee and Alan Castillo.
