PRINCETON UNIVERSITY CONCERTS LAUNCHES DO-RE-MEET, A NEW SERIES OF SOCIAL EVENTS FOR MUSIC LOVERS

Designed to help people connect over a mutual interest in music, this groundbreaking program—facilitated by The Singles Group, NJ’s largest singles company—includes speed dating and find your friends paired with concerts on Princeton University Concerts’ Performances Up Close series, at the historic Maclean House

on the Princeton University campus.

PRINCETON, NJ—In the aftermath of pandemic shutdowns, Princeton University Concerts (“PUC”) is redoubling its commitment to providing new points of connection through music. In December, the concert series launches a brand-new initiative: Do-Re-Meet – Social Events for Music Lovers. The first program of its kind, Do-Re-Meet encompasses a variety of pre-concert events including a speed dating session; Find Your Friends, a “speed friending” event for people seeking a concert-going community; and an LGBTQ+ Single Mingle, presented in partnership with the Princeton University Gender + Sexuality Resource Center.

Attendees will enjoy an evening of hors d’oeuvres and new connections facilitated by The Singles Group at the historic Maclean House on Princeton’s campus. They will then take a short walk together to Richardson Auditorium, Alexander Hall to enjoy a concert on PUC’s Performances Up Close series.

Princeton University Concerts’ Director Marna Seltzer shares: “A mutual love of music can serve as such a strong point of connection between individuals. Community is at the core of our vision here at PUC. ‘The world’s greatest musicians among friends’ has been our tagline for years. Do-Re-Meet is the extension of that vision. We’re so excited to be the first concert series offering speed dating and speed friending social events.”

Outreach Manager Dasha Koltunyuk shared that she met her husband, composer/pianist Gregg Kallor, at a PUC Performances Up Close event several years ago. “We happened to sit next to each other at a performance by the Escher String Quartet, and it was love at first note,” she describes. “I so hope that these Do-Re-Meet events will help others find that same incredibly deep connection—whether romantic or platonic—that music can so magically foster.”

Tickets for the full evening—admission to both the Do-Re-Meet event and the ensuing concert—are $50 General/$20 Student. Patrons already holding tickets to events on the Performances Up Close series can add-on the Do-Re-Meet experience by contacting PUC at 609-258-2800 or through puc.princeton.edu
