One Night at Giant Rock has been in development since 2005. The final product is a collection of songs reflecting Young’spersonal journey to discovering the karmic meaning in all her relationships. DeLorenzo was pivotal tothe production of the album after severe hearing impairment left Young no longer able to hear subtle differences in the studio. “Astrid’s new record is quite the playground of new and fantastic musical invention that calms the soul, itches the mind and fires the imagination! This collection will help to answer the question of where music is headed in 2014 and beyond,” said DeLorenzo.

Astrid Young grew up in Toronto with her father, Scott Young and her mother, Astrid Carlson Mead who endeavored to educate her musically as early as possible. She could read music probably before she could read words. After her half-brother and fellow musician Neil Young, bought Astrid her first amp in the 1970s,she began to explore her own musical talents.  Since then she has shared stages and studios with a mind-blowing roster of musical legends, wrote a bestselling book (Being Young, Insomniac Press), made a short film, and played or sang on a ton of records.
