NINE YOUNG VOICES CHOSEN DURING LAST NIGHT’S THIRD EPISODE OF ‘BLIND AUDITIONS’ ON TELEMUNDO’S “LA VOZ KIDS”

More Kids Ready to Impress the Three Coaches with their Voices Next Sunday, April 5 at 8pm/7c

MIAMI – March 30, 2015 – During last night’s third episode of ‘Blind Auditions’ on Telemundo’s “La Voz Kids,” Coaches Daddy Yankee, Natalia Jimenez and Pedro Fernandez selected nine new voices from California, Florida, Massachusetts, Nevada, New York, Pennsylvania, Puerto Rico and Texas. A total of 24 contestants currently make up the three teams, and once a total of 54 are chosen, the ‘Battle Rounds’ will begin. The search for more voices continues this Sunday, April 5th at 8pm/7c, during the fourth ‘Blind Auditions’ from Universal Orlando Resort.

Following is a recap of last night’s episode:

DADDY YANKEE added three to #TeamYankee:

  • 14-year-old Jersen Ruiz, from Humacao, Puerto Rico, performed “Tu Amor Me Hace Bien” (Marc Anthony). He is a very shy young man, but once he takes the stage everything changes, to the point that he made the three Coaches turn their chairs at once.
  • 12-year-old Janely Rosa, from Houston, Texas, performed “Mama Knows Best” (Jessie J.). She wants to demonstrate that she can sing, especially to her brother, and she proved that as the three Coaches turned their chairs praising her spectacular performance. Coach Natalia stated “with your voice you can sing whatever you want,” just before she was visibly upset by Janely’s choice of #TeamYankee.
  • 13-year-old Keily Valenzuela, from Harleysville, Pennsylvania, performed “Mi Tesoro” (Jesse & Joy). Her heart is in her native country Honduras, where her grandparents live. With a versatile voice, she made Coaches Natalia and Yankee battle it out.

NATALIA JIMENEZ chose three female voices for #TeamNatalia:

  • 7-year-old Lea del Castillo, from Las Vegas, Nevada, performed “Que Te Pasa” (Yuri). This charismatic young girl not only impressed the Coaches with her talent, but also with her wit and self-confidence. The three Coaches turned and she decided for Coach Natalia stating that she wants to be a ‘star’ just like her.
  • 13-year-old Priscilla Naranjo from Miami, Florida, performed “Rather Be” (Clean Bandit). She said that her inspiration is her family of musicians; her mother, who is her strength, and that singing keeps her peaceful and serene. Coaches Yankee and Natalia enjoyed her performance but she chose #TeamNatalia.
  • 11-year-old Merlyn Garcia from Lynn, Massachusetts, performed “Chandelier” (Sia). This girl who loves to sing “Scat” (a music style), is a friend of Amanda Mena, winner of the second season of “La Voz Kid,” who finds in her inspiration and pride. The three Coaches battled intensively to get her, amazed by her impeccable voice but Coach Natalia was proud to make her part of her team.

PEDRO FERNANDEZ also added three members to #TeamPedro:

  • 8-year-old Jesus Urbina from Brownsville, Texas, performed “El Mariachi Loco” (Pedro Fernandez). He dreams of becoming a big star singing Mexican music. The audience cheered for Jesus, while Coach Pedro also sang and danced to the famous tune.
  • 14-year-old Wildania Aquino, from Bronx, New York, performed “Respect” (Aretha Franklin). Her parents are musicians, and her inspiration is to help her sick father get better and out of his wheelchair. Coach Pedro immediately turned his chair and added her to his team, admiring the projection and singularity of her voice.
  • 8-year-old Angel Gonzalez from Richmond, California, performed “Por Tu Maldito Amor” (Vicente Fernandez). His adopted parents are musicians and find a blessing in him and their shared love for music. He wants to be the “voice for other kids with no families,” and dressed as a “Charro,” he picked Coach Pedro who stated that Angel reminded him of when he first started singing.
