Second-generation Norwegians, whose parents migrated from the Ivory Coast and Ghana, Nico & Vinz have recorded a new song “Find A Way,” featuring Emmanuel Jal for the upcoming drama The Good Lie after being inspired by an advance screening.  Jal also stars in the film, alongside Reese Witherspoon, Arnold Oceng, Ger Duany and Corey Stoll.  Directed by Philippe Falardeau from a screenplay by Margaret Nagle, The Good Lie is inspired by the story of the Lost Boys of the Sudan and follows a group of young Sudanese refugees who, after escaping their country’s brutal civil war, resettle in America with the help of Reese Witherspoon‘s character.   “Find A Way” is currently being used in the trailers for the film which hits theaters on October 3rd.  Warner Bros. Records will be releasing The Good Lie soundtrack on September 30th.

The duo are set to perfom at the two-hour return of Fashion Rocks on September 9th. Airing live on CBS from Barclay’s Center, the Ryan Seacrest-hosted special celebrating the relationship between fashion and music will feature performances by some of music’s most innovative trendsetters including Afrojack, Duran Duran, Jennifer Lopez, KISS, Miranda Lambert, Pitbull, Rita Ora, The Band Perry and Usher. The two will also be performing at the 20th anniversary party for Instyle Magazine, the official media partner of Fashion Rocks during New York Fashion Week.

Nico & Vinz will kick off the release of Black Star Elephant the following week with a performance of “Am I Wrong” on The Ellen DeGeneres Show on September 15th. This latest performance will complete a U.S. campaign that kicked off on Jimmy Kimmel Live! and has captivated audiences on LIVE! with Kelly and Michael, The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon and The Roots, Good Morning America and The View. On September 19th, Nico & Vinz will hold a free performance at the Mall of America in Bloomington, MN as part of the Hard Rock Cafe Mall of America’s grand opening kickoff event. Nico & Vinz’ show in the Rotunda will mark the first live performance hosted by the new venue. The concert starts at 5pm with a signing of Black Star Elephant immediately following. 

 
Nico Sereba and Vincent “Vinz” Dery hail from Oslo, Norway where they have been shaking up the entertainment scene with a sound that is reminiscent of The Police, Fela, and Paul Simon’s Graceland. The singing/songwriting duo have tapped into the heart of global culture by writing and performing eclectic songs influenced by pop, reggae, West African dance, hip hop, rock and soul stylings that joyfully speak of life, love and identity.

Known originally as Envy to their European fans when they debuted in 2010, the pair have topped various charts thanks to their extraordinary storytelling, electrifying performances and riveting videos.  “Am I Wrong” has a 20x-platinum combined certification in Scandinavia where it has won an NRJ Award for “Song of the Year” and a Spelleman Award (Norwegian equivalent to a Grammy) nomination for “Hit of the Year.”  The corresponding video shot in Botswana has been viewed almost 55 million times on Youtube and was performed alongside their second Scandinavian single “In Your Arms” at the 2013 Nobel Peace Prize concert in Oslo.
