in observance of federal holiday

 

SARASOTA COUNTY – Most Sarasota County Government offices, including the Florida Department of Health in Sarasota County, will be closed Friday, July 4, in observance of Independence Day.

 

All Sarasota County libraries and recreation centers will be closed. Payne Park Tennis Center, 2050 Adams Lane in Sarasota, will be open 7:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.

 

Sarasota County Area Transit (SCAT) will not operate on July 4 and will resume normal weekend hours Saturday, July 5.

 

Solid waste, yard waste and recyclable collections normally scheduled for Friday pickup will resume on Saturday, July 5. The landfill at 4000 Knights Trail Road in Nokomis, as well as the Sarasota County chemical collection centers at 8750 Bee Ridge Road in Sarasota, 250 S. Jackson Road in Venice and the Citizens Convenience Center at 4010 Knights Trail Road, Nokomis, will be closed.
