More than 100 Brookside Middle students to stage flash mob dance based on the Constitution at Embracing Our Differences exhibit at Island Park this Friday!

What: A flash mob dance, based on the Preamble of the Constitution, choreographed and danced by more than 100 Brookside Middle School 8th grade students.

Background: Students from Speech class and Language Arts classes, who have been studying the Constitution, explored the concept that this is the primary document that allows us to “embrace our differences.” The students in Speech class developed the choreography and then presented it to the Language Arts classes to learn.  The creation became the impetus for the flash mob event for the school field trip.

When: Friday, May 23, 12:30 p.m. (The event will last two minutes.)

Where: At the Embracing Our Differences exhibit in downtown Sarasota’s Island Park (near O’Learys).
