MIX @ THE MAX PESENTS INPROV PIANO TRIPLE-THREAT ‘HAMMER & KEY’
DETROIT, (March 14, 2014) – On Wednesday, March 26 at 7 p.m. the incredibly popular Mix @ The Max series, presented by the Detroit Symphony Orchestra (DSO) and WDET 101.9 FM will continue with Hammer & Key, featuring three grand pianos, and three piano improv masters to bring them to life. No sheet music, no program, just pure keyboard throw down.
Hammer & Key will take place in the intimate Music Box space at the Max M. Fisher Music Center. WDET’s Alex Trajano will be the evening’s host. This Mix @ The Max presentation is made possible by generous support from Ruth Rattner.
Piano prodigies Sebastian Chang and Chase Morrin will join DSO Assistant Conductor Teddy Abrams in an improv-inspired evening filled with vibrant virtuosity. Considered three of the greatest talents of their generation, the young pianists bring a multitude of styles to a performance fueled by imagination, dynamic interplay and on-the-spot composition. Arrive early to enjoy drinks and custom menu items in the atrium before the concert and join us post-performance for a special after party at Great Lakes Coffee in Midtown. Tickets are just $15 at dso.org/mix or $25 at the door.
$49 per person VIP Tickets are also available, including reserved seating at tables of four patrons and a complimentary drink.
