New York, NY: November 23, 2015 — Academy Award-winning documentary film director Michael Moore visits 92nd Street Y on Tuesday, December 1. Following a preview screening of his new film, Where to Invade Next, Moore joins 92Y Reel Pieces moderator Annette Insdorf for an on-stage conversation.
From Roger and Me (1989) to the Oscar-winning Bowling for Columbine (2002), Fahrenheit 9/11 (2004) and Sicko (2007), Michael Moore’s work has been entertaining, satirizing and provoking. He won an Emmy Award for his series “TV Nation” in the mid-1990s, and his books include Stupid White Men, Dude, Where’s My Country? and Here Comes Trouble. Where to Invade Next is an expansive, rib-tickling and subversive comedy in which Moore, playing the role of “invader,” visits nine nations to learn how the U.S. could improve its own prospects. It turns out the solutions to America’s most entrenched problems already exist in the world: they’re just waiting to be co-opted.
Annette Insdorf—Columbia University Film professor and author—has been bringing audiences the best in film for over 25 years, including previews of Oscar Best Picture winner Birdman, andThe Imitation Game, as well as The Theory of Everything.
