TORONTO (September 8, 2014) — Media Luna announces the TIFF World Premiere of LUNA, the latest film by Dave McKean, a celebrated illustrator of graphic novels, album covers, children’s books, and concept artist for films such as “Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban”. In 1995 he produced the image that launched the Sony Playstation; and he has contributed with the promotional work for the films like “Blade”, “Alien”, “Resurrection” and “Sleepy Hollow”. In his career as an illustrator, Dave has alsowon the Harvey Awards for Best New Comic and Best Graphic Novel and he has won the international Amid Award for the best album cover of the year. As a filmmaker he was awarded in Locarno and Sitges Film Festival for his previous film “The Mirror Mask”
After losing their baby, Grant and Christine visit a friend in his isolated and idyllic seaside house. Over a long weekend, secrets are revealed and the life of their dead child is lived out in a series of fantastical dreams that becomes an opportunity for spiritual healing.
