Garcetti Concert Statement

“We showed L.A. can do big things for our economy and people’s enjoyment,” Mayor Garcetti said. “We want leading companies and event organizers to know we’re changing L.A. so it’s no longer a place where red tape is allowed to stand in the way of jobs, innovation and entertainment.”

Mayor Garcetti aggressively pursued this weekend’s Budweiser Made In America festival both for the immediate economic benefit and to demonstrate that the entertainment capital of the world is going to be aggressive about being a capital for the live entertainment industry, too.

500 people will be on the job tearing down the festival. 2,500 people were employed each festival day, which saw total admissions of some 70,000. The City of Philadelphia released an economic analysis of the festival there showing a $10 million economic impact. L.A. city departments reported that the event went off in an orderly and safe manner.
