Maestro Kabaretti will open the program with Mozart’s beautiful and elegant Serenade No. 10 in B-flat major, K. 261, known as the “Gran Partita.” Scored only for woodwinds and horns, the Serenade has the same scope and depth as Mozart’s symphonies. The second half of the concert features Igor Stravinsky’s The Soldier’s Tale. Would you trade an ordinary violin for a magic book? Or your soul for limitless wealth and power? And could you ever get them back? Stravinsky’s The Soldier’s Tale provides a timeless lesson about the adage “Be careful what you wish for…” The Soldier’s Tale will be narrated by special guest Robert Van Winkle
