Manatee Community Foundation Funds Results 1st Training for The Florida Center Staff

SARASOTAThe Manatee Community Foundation provided The Florida Center for Early Childhood with a $5,000 Achievement Building grant, funded by an anonymous donor. The contribution allowed five of The Florida Center’s employees to participate in a leadership training through Results 1st.

The three-month training, which began in January, equips participants with tools they need to define, track, verify and report on the results they achieve. The program is created for employees that play an active role in the creation and measurement of program results.

“We are so grateful to be involved in the Results 1st initiative,” said Kimberly Treharne, Chief Operating Officer of The Florida Center. “We formed a small team to focus on a very specific aspect of one of our programs that could have a profound impact on outcomes for the local children and families we serve.”

Through project-based learning and practice, staff members enrolled in the training will be able to report their results and learnings to the group after its completion in April.

“Our trainer’s expertise, encouragement and experience as a non-profit leader has prepared her to be very effective in working with our team,” said Treharne. “She understands the barriers and challenges we face, yet encourages us to push the needle to make gains.”

As a result of this initiative, staff will have a streamlined process for assessing and reporting the specific benefits children and families are able to achieve through The Florida Center’s programs.
