MAJOR LEAGUE BASEBALL PLAYERS ALUMNI ASSOCIATION BRINGS LEGENDS FOR YOUTH BASEBALL CLINIC SERIES TO LAKELAND, FL

Free youth baseball clinic to feature Jerry Manuel, Ron LeFlore and other MLB Alumni

Colorado Springs, Colo. – Local youth will have an opportunity to play with their big league heroes at the Major League Baseball Players Alumni Association (MLBPAA) Legends for Youth baseball clinic series on Saturday, March 12th, 2016. The free clinic features current and former Major League Baseball players who will teach baseball skills, drills and life lessons for approximately 200 local youth.

Players attending* include 2000 American League Manager of the Year Jerry Manuel and former All-Star Ron LeFlore, as well as Fernando Arroyo, Ike Blessitt, Ron Jackson, John Knox, Joe Staton, John Wockenfuss and Jake Wood.These nine players combine for 58 seasons, 3,788 games and 3,152 hits in Major League Baseball.

The clinic will take place at Simpson Park Community Center, running from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m., located at 1725 Martin Luther King Jr. Ave., Lakeland, FL 33805. Alumni players will train at stations including pitching, catching, base running and life skills. Registration will begin at 12:30 p.m. and the afternoon will conclude with an autograph session and baseball giveaways for children in attendance.
