MAJOR LEAGUE BASEBALL PLAYERS ALUMNI ASSOCIATION BRINGS LEGENDS FOR YOUTH BASEBALL CLINIC AND GOLF CLASSIC TO HUNTINGTON BEACH, CA

Event to feature Rollie Fingers, Jay Johnstone, Fred Lynn and other MLB Alumni

Colorado Springs, Colo. – Local youth will have an opportunity to play with their big league heroes at the Major League Baseball Players Alumni Association (MLBPAA) Legends for Youth baseball clinic on Sunday, January 25th, 2015. The free baseball clinic features Major League Baseball players who will teach baseball skills, drills and life lessons for approximately 200 local youth ages 6 – 16.

The Major League Baseball Players Alumni Association will also host a “Swing with the Legends” celebrity golf tournament. The event will feature Hall of Famers, former MLB All-Stars, World Series champions and other alumni players. The golf tournament will take place on Monday, January 26th.Proceeds from this event will benefit Kindervision.

Alumni players attending* the event include Hall of Famer Rollie Fingers,nine-time All-Star Fred Lynn and two-time World Series champion Jay Johnstone¸ as well as David Anderson, Bob Bailey, Doug Baker, Richard Baney, Mike Burns, Brett Cookson, George Culver, Mike Gallo, Ike Hampton, Darrell Jackson, Paul Jaeckel, Mike Lee, Jim Lentine, Joe Moeller, Ron Meredith, Rob Nelson, Carl Nichols, Phil Ouellette, Steve Springer and Todd Zeile.

The clinic will take place at Golden West Community College, located at 15744 Goldenwest St., Huntington Beach, CA 92647. The clinic will run from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Alumni players will train at stations including pitching, catching, baserunning and life skills. Registration will begin at 12:30 p.m. The morning will conclude with an autograph session for children in attendance. To register for this clinic, please visit www.baseballalumni.com. The tournament will take place at SeaCliff Country Club, starting with a $10,000 putting contest at 10:00 a.m. followed by a shotgun start at 10:30 a.m. located at 6501 Palm Avenue, Huntington Beach, CA 92648. The event will conclude with a banquet at 5:00 p.m.
