Self-made phenomenon Loren Gray released her new single today – “Cake,” a sparkling declaration of personal independence. Download / stream HERE. Before she had even turned 18, Loren had racked up over 100 million cumulative global streams of her songs and developed a social media following of over 65 million combined.

Like many people during quarantine, Loren has deeply missed her friends. So, together with Ariel Martin, Tati McQuay, Brooke Kier, and Erika Marosi, she planned a virtual party. The friends shot footage of all the party prep – from cake baking to glam time – in their respective homes and joined up on Zoom for their Girls’ Night In soirée. Director Nikko Lamere (Marina, Stanaj) and producer Shawnette Heard pulled the footage together to create the official video for “Cake,” and employed eye-popping, retro-style graphics to amp up the party vibe. Loren began recording “Cake” earlier this year. Once California’s stay-at-home order took effect, she created her own home studio so she could finish the song and release it.

Fans can spot Loren in the closing scene of the official video for Taylor Swift’s “The Man.” Loren talks about being recruited by Swift in this exclusive interview with E! News. She also has a cameo in Kim Petra’s celebrity-studded “Malibu” (At Home Edition) video, released earlier this week. “Cake” follows Loren’s series of 2019 singles, which included “Options,” “Lie Like That” and “Can’t Do It” (feat. Saweetie). She also featured on Lost Kings’ “Anti-Everything.”

Growing up in the Philadelphia area, Loren began playing piano at a young age and spent her childhood listening to everything from classic rock and country to heavy metal and hip-hop. At 15, she uprooted herself and moved to Los Angeles to pursue a career in music. After cutting six records as an independent artist, Loren landed a deal with Virgin Records. In August 2018, she released “My Story,” which debuted at #1 on the Spotify Global Viral Chart.
