“Thousands of Bodies Breathing and Moving Together Feels Like a Prayer for Peace.” Colleen Saidman Yee, Yoga Instructor
Last night under the setting sun, 4,000 yogis united for peace as part of the Lolë White Tour at Exhibition Place in Toronto.
Dressed all in white, a sea of yoga enthusiasts joined acclaimed instructors Colleen Saidman Yee and Rodney Yee as they led an inspiring evening of yoga after a relaxing meditation with Marla Meenakshi Joy, co-founder of Toronto’s Downward Dog Yoga Centre. The soothing sounds of Canadian singer-songwriter BEYRIES blanketed the evening, helping guests literally unwind.
“To be a part of a community that inspires peace and wholeness is my greatest joy and greatest service in life,” said Marla Meenakshi Joy. “The energy felt with so many people doing an intentional practice of “together we are One” contributes to global peace in such a potent and profound way.”
Launched in Montreal in 2012, The Lolë White Tour has since brought together over 65,000 participants, all dressed in white to promote peace, wellness and community. The Tour has taken place in locations including the Eifel Tower in Paris, Central Park in New York City, and the Old Port in Montreal.
“The Lole White Tour is an art installation and I love the poetry in motion.” Rodney Yee
Building on the success of The Lolë White Tour, The Lolë White Tour On The Road was started in 2016 as an initiative to bring community powered yoga sessions to people around the world. This year, Lolë White Tour On The Road took place on June 14 in nearly 50 cities in Canada, the United States and in Europe, creating opportunities to experience the exceptional.
“For the past six years we have been sharing our belief that keeping mind and body active, and the spirit of community alive, is simply magical. What an incredible journey it has been!” Nathalie Binda, VP Lolë White Tour
The Lolë White Tour returns to Montreal, where BEYRIES will also be performing, on August 12 at the Old Port for its biggest event to date where yoga lovers can participate in both a morning and evening yoga session.
