Local Businesses, Sponsors Show Strong Support for the Bradenton Blues Festival
Businesses, Foundations, and Individuals Continue to Enthusiastically Support the
Ninth Annual Bradenton Blues Festival
BRADENTON, Fla. — The ninth annual Bradenton Blues Festival continues to enjoy robust support from local businesses, foundations, and sponsors, even during the challenges of COVID-19. Blues fans have also showed their support for the socially-distanced festival as fewer than 100 tickets remain for the Saturday, Dec. 5 show at LECOM Park in downtown Bradenton. The online box office closes at 11:59 p.m. on Nov. 22 and tickets will not be available at the gate for the Friday or Saturday events.
“We’re grateful to our presenting sponsor, BMO Harris Bank, and to all of the businesses, organizations and individuals who invest in the local community through the Bradenton Blues Festival,” says Johnette Isham, executive director of Realize Bradenton. “COVID-19 has brought many new challenges to downtown Bradenton, and we are thankful that 42 sponsors have stepped forward to continue showing their support—and even increasing their support. These sponsors continue to plant seeds in order to grow a healthy, inclusive and diverse downtown, even during uncertain times.”
In addition to cultivating a strong local economy, Realize Bradenton, the nonprofit that produces the festival, uses funds from the event to enrich the community through youth, art, nutrition and music initiatives that are free to the community, including the ‘Blues in the Schools’ program.
“We appreciate the understanding and cooperation from our fans and sponsors during this unprecedented time,” said Isham. “After careful consideration and deliberate planning, we decided to move forward with the Bradenton Blues Festival in the most cautious way possible. Our safety procedures are outlined on BradentonBluesFestival.org and are available for everyone to review by clicking the yellow ‘COVID’ button in the navigation menu.”
The Bradenton Blues Festival weekend returns to downtown Bradenton at LECOM Park, bringing three days of live music from celebrated blues musicians, Dec. 4–6, 2020. Kicking off the blues weekend is the “Blues Appetizer” Concert on Friday from 6–9 p.m., Dec. 4; followed by the Bradenton Blues Festival, Saturday, Dec. 5 from 11 a.m.–8 p.m.; and wrapping up the weekend is the Bradenton Blues Brunch, Sunday, Dec. 6 from 11 a.m.–2 p.m. at Mattison’s Riverwalk Grille.
