In a year when dance music has soared to its brightest neon heights yet, L.A.-via-Atlanta producer and DJ LE CASTLE VANIA (aka Dylan Eiland) rises up in a flood of cut-and-paste genre du jour remixes and paint-by-numbers SoundCloud uploads with his sophomore EP FEELS LIKE FIRE, out June 24 on his own Always Never Records. LE CASTLE VANIA is taking no prisoners with this release: brimming with an explosive amount of sound engineering and layers, dark electrified rhythms, muscular beats and ethereal vocals, all five tracks beg to be unleashed on the dancefloor.
Since his start DJing at Atlanta warehouses and raves, LE CASTLE VANIA’s electronic prowess has garnered support from the likes of Kaskade and deadmau5, who recruited DYLAN for a slot on his tour and launched the young protégé’s debut EP Prophication on his mau5trap imprint last year.
“In my opinion this EP shows a different side of me as a musician it covers a wider diversity of my musical spectrum and has a distinctly different feeling than my previous EP. It’s a lot more uplifting but at the same time has moments that are haunting, emotional and vibey,” DYLAN says.
The first track “Come Together” sets the stage for the EP, with Mariana Bell’s seductive vocals swirling cosmically above a weighty bassline. What follows is a wild ride through blurred genres and moods – on “Nobody Gets Out Alive Part II”, danceable beats combat with serious synths, slipping into a frenzy of lasers and dirty bass drops. The EP’s third track “Moving In Time” is co-produced by Must Die, and has the hard-hitting pattern of the last two but switches it up, stretching out the vocals of Mariana Bell for a more melodic refrain. “Part of Me” features the intricate vocal stylings of Alyssa Palmer (formerly known as Miss Palmer, featured on Afrojack and Steve Aoki’s “No Beef” and Felix Cartal’s “Black to White”), as well as the slick, club-ready beats of Le Castle Vania and co-producer Crywolf, who also is signed to Always Never Records.“Driving Away” breaks from the violence, allowing the listener to relax, sit back, listen and appreciate LE CASTLE VANIA’s sheer musicality while adding the captivating vocals of SunSun to the mix. FEELS LIKE FIRE’s smoldering intensity is matched only by its impressive amount of fine-tuning and layering, and the result LE CASTLE VANIA in elevated form – edgy, dark, and regally crafted.
Following the EP release, LE CASTLE VANIA will continue his saga with explosive live performances at major festivals including TomorrowWorld and Electric Zoo with more dates to be announced very soon. His current tour routing is below.
