OSCARS 2016

February 28, 2016

When it comes to the inspiration for a makeup look makeup artist Stephen Sollitto, works with a combination of the woman he is working with, her dress and the event. For the Vanity Fair Oscar Party five time Academy Award Nominee Amy Adams wore a gorgeous black netted and white Versace gown.

FACE:

Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Concentrate

Kiehl’s Iris Extract Activating Treatment Essence

Kiehl’s Creamy Eye Treatment With Avocado

Kiehl’s Rose Arctica Lightweight Cream

Giorgio Armani Maestro Glow Foundation in #4

Giorgio Armani Cheek Fabric in #506

TECHNIQUE:

Prepping the face has become more and more important. For any big event Stephen recommends applying Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Concentrate the night before, so you wake up with a fresh glow in the morning. To start the look for the day Stephen prepped with a Kiehl’s Iris Extract Activating Treatment Essence and then tapped Kiehl’s Creamy Eye Treatment with Avocado under Amy’s eyes and finished with Kiehl’s Rose Arctica Lightweight Cream. Starting at the top and working his way down with a damp Beauty Blender Sponge Sollitto used Giorgio Armani Maestro Glow Foundation in #4.  For cheeks, Stephen was inspired by the thought of flushed cheeks looking fresh against the crisp white. So he applied the perfect rose color to Amy’s cheeks, Giorgio Armani Cheek Fabric in #506.

EYES:

Giorgio Armani Eye Tint in #10

Giorgio Armani Eyes to Kill Solo in #15

TECHNIQUE:

Amy has beautiful eyes. You don’t have to do a lot to make them stand out. On the Almond of the eye Stephen used Giorgio Armani Eye Tint Fluid Eye Color in #10. This is a gorgeous taupe and a perfect shade for blue eyes. He then took the same shadow went back and forth under the bottom lashes for a soft smokey affect. At the lash line to darken just a bit he used Giorgio Armani Eyes to Kill Solo in #15. Sollitto lined the outer corners with a black pencil and blend, blend, blend.

LIPS:

Giorgio Armani Ecstasy Lacquer in #400

TECHNIQUE:

For the lips Stephen’s inspiration was the Giorgio Armani Ecstasy Lacquer in #400 which he calls “the glossiest red around.”
