K-State Athletics Partners With Daktronics For New LED Video Displays
New scoring and video displays coming to football stadium
BROOKINGS, S.D. – Mar. 11, 2015 – When K-State Wildcats fans head to the gridiron this fall, they’ll be greeted by a new LED video display system from Daktronics (NASDAQ-DAKT) of Brookings, South Dakota. Kansas State University has asked the company to design, manufacture and install a new main video display and ribbon displays for Bill Snyder Family Football Stadium in Manhattan, Kansas, as part of a multi-phase renovation plan scheduled through 2017-18.
“K-State Athletics is pleased to partner with Daktronics on the northwest video board at Bill Snyder Family Stadium,” said Executive Associate Athletics Director, Laird Veatch. “The Wildcat Nation continues to showcase its support of our student-athletes by our current sellout streak of 20 straight football games, and these enhancements further support our goals of providing the Best Fan Experience in the Big 12.”
Wildcats fans will enjoy a new large LED video display measuring 39 feet high by 67 feet wide in the northwest area of the stadium. It features a 13HD pixel layout and wide angle visibility for crisp, clear imagery delivered to every seat in the stadium. This display incorporates variable content zoning which allows it to show one large image or multiple different zones of content. The versatility allows the game-day production to show a variety of live video, instant replays, scoring and statistics, animations and graphics, and sponsor messages.
The installation includes two ribbon displays to be located on the upper fascia of the new North Vanier Athletic Complex, each measuring roughly 7 feet by 23 feet wide and also featuring a 13HD pixel layout. A new fixed-digit scoreboard will also be installed at the stadium. These displays are integrated into the game-day production to supplement content shown on the main display but can also provide additional statistics and game information as well as the opportunity to highlight sponsors throughout events.
“We’re very excited to be able to help Kansas State improve their game-day environment for 2015 with these new LED scoring and video displays,” said Ryan Kuzman, Daktronics sales representative. “Our commitment to enhancing the fan experience at K-State goes back more than 40 years and we are very humbled to be chosen to continue that partnership throughout this project and for many years to come.”
Daktronics LED video and messaging display technology incorporates industry-leading environmental protection for a long lifetime with consistent performance and low power consumption, providing value and excitement for years to come.
