SONREAL TO HIT THE ROAD ON 28 DATE CROSS COUNTRY U.S. SUMMER TOUR WITH JON BELLION IN JUNE

June 10th, 2016 – (Los Angeles, CA) – Juno Award-nominated, critically acclaimed rapper, singer, songwriter, and visual maverick SonReal will hit the road with his Capitol Records labelmate Jon Bellion for a nationwide tour beginning June 20th in Boston. SonReal’s new single, “Can I Get A Witness” out now on Capitol Records/Black Box, has hit Spotify’s Global, U.S., and Canadian Viral charts, already racking up more than 1.8 million plays. Spotify showcased the song as part of its coveted “New Music Friday” Playlist, along with “Most DefiLitly” and “Hip Hop Hits.“ In addition, Apple Music featured it on the “Best of the Week” Playlist. “Can I Get A Witness” is available for purchase HERE.
Known for his comedic larger-than-life videos which have over 8 million combined views, SonReal upholds this tradition with the clip for “Can I Get A Witness,” with a concept inspired by the song’s lyrics in which the rapper explains how some of his old fans are accusing him of changing his musical style. Rocking in a court room, he presents a wild lyrical case as the jury sits astonished. A cadre of characters from his previous internet smashes “Everywhere We Go,” “Whoa Nilly,” and “For The Town” make cameos on the witness stand. In Canada, SonReal has become a hip-hop phenomenon. The lyricist and songwriter has been nominated for five JUNO awards, including two this year both for “Rap Recording of The Year” and “Video of the Year” for “For The Town” from his EP of the same name. He has garnered a total of eight Much Music Video Award nominations, five of which came in 2014 when he took home MuchFact Video of the Year for “Everywhere We Go,” (which also earned a JUNO nod for “Rap Recording of the Year”). MTV Newscalled him “Drake’s Biggest Competition at the JUNO Awards,” while Huffington Post wrote, “SonReal has his own flow, his own style, his own message. And he’s pretty damn good at it.” Along the way, he also received glowing praise from Noisey/Vice, The Source, Huffington Post, Verge, Earmilk, HipHopDX, and more. He’s released a string of buzzworthy projects including, Good News (2012) The Closers (2013), One Long Day (2014), and 2015’s For The Town. SonReal will be releasing a new EP later this summer.
