THE STRENGTH OF A PEOPLE. THE POWER OF COMMUNITY.

The Jewish Federation of Sarasota-Manatee, in coordination with the Heller Israel Advocacy Initiative and partner agencies, has launched an emergency campaign for the ongoing crisis in Israel. As we gear up to help during the crisis, let’s join together in prayer and hope for a speedy end to this conflict, and peace for all.

We are currently in the process of developing a community-wide solidarity event. Details to be announced soon.

THE SITUATION
• Over 360 rockets have been fired into Israel since Monday, targeting heavily populated civilian areas.
IDF RESPONSE
• The IDF has hit 513 launchers and nearly 800 terror targets in total since the start of the operation, and claims that it still has hundreds of targets remaining.

Ian Black, past president of The Jewish Federation of Sarasota-Manatee and Marty Haberer, Associate Executive Director, are with approximately 130 of the nation’s leading Jewish leaders and philanthropists in Tel Aviv, Israel.

Ian states, “We sit on the patio, overlooking the dramatic skyline of the city. To the right, a beautiful sunset over the Mediterranean. To the left, high in a cloudless blue sky an emerging full moon shines brightly. And then, center stage, a Hamas fired missile is intercepted by the Iron Dome defense system and explodes harmlessly, in front of our eyes. Being able to stand with our Israeli family at this critical time, showing our support and that of the entire North American Jewish community, we have never felt more honored and privileged.”
