Interactive Ceramic Demonstrations and Workshops to be Featured at

5th Annual Sarasota Craft Show

Carla O’Brien of Carla’s Clay will offer interactive ceramic and pottery demos and workshops at the 5th annual Sarasota Craft Show.

 

(Sarasota, FL) Carla O’Brien, a ceramic artist and founder of Carla’s Clay Studio in Sarasota, will offer a series of interactive ceramic and pottery demonstrations and workshops during the 5th annual Sarasota Craft Show, December 5-7, at Robarts Arena, 300 Ringling Boulevard, Sarasota. In addition to seeing some of the best art and craftwork in the nation, visitors will also be able to try their hand at various clay techniques, including hand-building, wheel throwing, sculpture and raku firing. The schedule for the event is:

  • Friday, December 5 and Saturday, December 6:
    • 10-11 a.m.: Pottery wheel throwing and raku glazing
    • Noon until completion: Raku firing
    • 3-5 p.m.: Hand-building
    • 10 a.m.-5 p.m.: Collaborative public sculpture project.
  • Sunday, December 7:
    • 10-11 a.m.: Pottery wheel throwing and raku glazing
    • Noon until completion: Raku firing
    • 3-5 p.m.: Hand-building
    • 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Collaborative public sculpture project.

Now in its 5th year, the Sarasota Craft Show, features exceptional works in ceramics, decorative fiber, glass, jewelry, leather, metal, mixed-media, paper, wearable art, wood, painting, photography and sculpture by more than 90 of the nation’s top artists, including over 40 artists from Florida. Tickets for the show are $10 per day; $9 for seniors; $5 for students; and $12 for a three-day pass. Children under 10 are admitted free.
