Eleventh Season of Cleveland Orchestra Miami features four weeks of programming starting this November
MIAMI – All tickets for the Cleveland Orchestra Miami 2016-17 season will go on sale to the public on September 10, 2016 with member pre-sale beginning August 27. The season features concerts by The Cleveland Orchestra presented in partnership with the Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts of Miami-Dade County. Subscription tickets are currently on sale for the season’s concerts, available through the Arsht Center Box Office. Tickets range in price from $39-$183. The four-week Cleveland Orchestra Miami season features weekends of concerts in November, January, February, and March with programs including works by Bach, Barber, Berlioz, Bruckner, Mendelssohn, Nielsen, Respighi, Shostakovich, Sibelius, and Verdi. Music Director Franz Welser-Möst conducts concerts in January, February, and March. Concerts in January include first performances by Miami’s Seraphic Fire vocal ensemble with The Cleveland Orchestra. Conductor Giancarlo Guerrero leads performances in November with violinist Gil Shaham. Community initiatives also continue with the 2016-17 season, featuring daytime Education Concerts at the Arsht Center, in-school music education programs, and free community presentations by The Cleveland Orchestra. Cleveland Orchestra Miami’s 2016-17 Gala Concert will take place on Friday, February 3. This special evening features Cleveland Orchestra Music Director Franz Welser-Möst and world-renowned cellist Yo-Yo Ma with the Orchestra in a one-night-only performance at the Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts of Miami-Dade County’s Knight Concert Hall. The program includes Smetana’s Overture to The Bartered Bride and Dvořák’s Cello Concerto. Concert tickets are currently on sale only to Cleveland Orchestra Miami subscribers, with tickets also on sale to the public on September 10. Concert ticket prices range from $55 to $199. “UNDER 18s FREE”
“Under 18s Free” continues to develop young audiences by making attending Orchestra concerts affordable for families, offering free tickets to young people 17 and under. The program offers one free ticket with each regular-priced adult paid admission to young people ages 8 – 17. Under 18s Free tickets are available for all Cleveland Orchestra Miami subscription series concerts. Tickets must be purchased by phone through the Adrienne Arsht Center Box Office at 305-949-6722.
