L.A.-based indie musician Shane is back with a new single, “Losers,” which is available
HERE. The official video for “Losers” is the latest in a series of imaginative clips that the young artist has conceived, choreographed, cast, co-directed and edited.
In the new clip, Shane takes to the football field. When his team can’t score, they break out their naughty dance moves and Shane bolts for the bleachers, where he’s spied his dream girl – on the arm of another guy.
“I enjoy taking a satirical approach to my music videos that contrast the lyrics,” says Shane. “I like to confuse the viewer, but win over the hearts of people who get the humor and message of the song.”
Shane will perform at Bootleg in Los Angeles on Friday, January 5. Tickets go on sale next Tuesday, November 14.
The teaser video for “Losers” racked up more than one million views in a week – repeating the success of the promos for his three previous music videos:
“Insecure,” “Dance” (starring animation dancer/YouTube personality Dytto) and
“Play Good Music At My Funeral” Combined views of Shane’s videos on Facebook now exceed 13 million. Cumulative Spotify streams of songs from his 2016 EP, SAD, have surpassed 5 million.
His engagingly choreographed video for “Insecure,” which has more than 2.5 million views on YouTube, has inspired fans around the globe to post their own versions of the clip. Reaction videos also abound, including one by British vlogger Daz Games, who has nearly 2 million subscribers. Another YouTuber offers up a theory that Shane’s “Insecure” dance goes with any song – including tracks by Arctic Monkeys, Fitz and The Tantrums, Smashmouth and Foster the People. Fans have covered “Insecure,” accompanying themselves on a variety of instruments, and there is at least one foreign language translation.
