The Pirate’s Treasure Hunt Begins This Month
For kids who love Pokemon GO, the Pirate’s Treasure Hunt is a contest they don’t want to miss!

It’s a 12-month educational journey in the form of an exciting quest for the treasure of a legendary pirate, once marooned in the area. The unique scavenger hunt provides middle school students with real clues that, with some detective work and a close examination of their own local history, can lead to hundreds of dollars in gifts and prizes.It all begins this month with the thunderous, heavily accented voice of a pirate, uttering the first verses of a twelve – part poem, sprinkled with clues that will lead to the hidden treasure. It’s a web show that also premiers this month and covers the history of major figures from the Sarasota/Bradenton area.
These are the first of several entertaining new programs which are being created by RisingStar31 Productions to support inspirational films and educational programs for youth. Pamela Sherrod, the producer, believes that the Pirate’s Treasure Hunt is a wonderful way to “make learning a fun and exciting adventure.” It’s a popular program she introduced to a local charter school during the same year that she partnered with Mrs. Sammy Davis Jr. to produce musical films and educational programs for children. They were on a mission to fulfill a request made by the late Rat Pack star, Sammy Davis Jr., who’d always regretted have sacrificed his education to start performing as a child.
“It’s also a great way to support and promote our local businesses,” Pamela adds. In addition to these projects, they’re producing web shows about Florida celebrities and local stars, food and restaurant reviews, the work of local artists and a special program about the real estate market.
