How does an artist, performer or musician get a website?

I had the good fortune to meet many of the people who are on stage. Some have websites, some do not, some don’t even know where to begin. I think I can help with some suggestions. You can have a very minimal cost to set up (price of domain) and free hosting. Let’s begin:

You can do these in any order.

Step 1.

To create a free, professional looking website with drag and drop, Weebly http://www.weebly.com

To modify images: PicMonkey: Free online photo editor, Collage, Touch Up, Teeth Whiten, Fonts, Effects, Filters, Frames, Stickers & more – http://www.picmonkey.com

mypictr Resize your pictures for social networks online, such as myspace, digg, youtube, last.fm, openbc and other. mypictr makes your profile picture – http://mypictr.com

Step 2.

Get a domain and a branded email account. Suggestion is Godaddy.com because of simplicity and they are accessible. http://www.godaddy.com
This is where the reoccuring cost come from. However, you can save some money by googling “godaddy discounts 50% off” or something along those lines. A list of websites come up with a code that you can apply at check out.  Just try it.

Step 3.

Get business cards. Vistaprint is a decent source. You can save some money by googling “vistaprint discounts” http://www.vistaprint.com

Step 4.

Need checks? walmartchecks.com – Walmart® Check Printing‎ – http://www.walmartchecks.com

Step 5.

Need a USPS POB?  Reserve or Renew a PO Box – https://www.usps.com/manage/get-a-po-box.htm
