January 17th, 2017 – (Hollywood, CA) – Alt-pop band Hey Violet announce today that they will hit the road in March for their first headlining North American tour which includes dates at the Troubadour in Los Angeles, the Subterranean in Chicago and NYC’s Gramercy Theatre.  Hey Violet’s upcoming tour will be supported by special guest Jessarae, a U.K. based guitarist and solo artist originally from Los Angeles.  Tickets go on sale this Friday, January 20th, via the band’s website www.heyviolet.com.
The L.A.-based band is building momentum with their current single “Guys My Age,” which has racked up more than 11 million combined streams across digital platforms and is currently No. 23 on the Top 40 radio chart and No. 19 on the U.S. Shazam chart, while the video has over 4.3 million views.  The track was named one of the Best Songs of 2016 by The New York Times, who called it “teen-pop’s revenge: an urgent dark song about sexual rebellion” and one of the 20 Best Songs of 2016 by V Magazine.  Hey Violet has also been nominated for a 2017 iHeart Radio award  for Best Underground Alternative Band and been dubbed an Artist Primed For a Breakout in 2017 by Billboard, a 2017 Most Anticipated Artist by Alternative Press and 2017 Artist to Watch by the Guardian, PopCrush and more.
Critics have praised Hey Violet’s current EP Brand New Moves, which debuted as the #1 artist album on iTunes in the U.S., and U.K. with Alternative Press noting that it “adds an edge their fans have been craving” along with “winks, some nudges and way more sass.” The Los Angeles Times compared their move “from grimy punk to shiny pop” to the Go-Go’s, while Galore declares frontwoman Rena Lovelis, “emits an unheard of level of rock-stardom for such a small girl without even singing a single note. But when she does sing, it’s as if Courtney Love, Gwen Stefani, and Hayley Williams crashed into each other and made a whole new generation of rock star.”
With a loyal and passionate fanbase built through non-stop touring, along with their well received debut EP, 2015’s I Can Feel It, Hey Violet revealed their bold, new, synth-driven sound on Brand New Moves. The band, which is Rena, her sister Nia Lovelis (drums), Miranda Miller (keys, vocals), Casey Moreta (lead guitar) and Iain Shipp (bass), have been making music individually since they were old enough to ask for lessons.  After signing with Hi Or Hey Records in 2015, Hey Violet got their first taste of rock stardom opening for 5 Seconds of Summer in the UK, Europe, and North America in 2015 and 2016.  I Can Feel It went to No. 1 on iTunes in five countries, including the U.K., and Top 5 in 10 other countries.
