Heidi Schmitz on view in Fort Myers through March 21 (03-13-14)

Heidi Schmitz is an artist and teacher who hails from her ARTelier in Munich, Germany. For 20 years, she has been creating acrylic and watercolor works using different techniques in a variety of media, including graphite, coffee and tar, and ink on wood, canvas, paper and Dibond aluminum. Her subjects range from abstract explorations of color and form to flowers to plein-airs of urban venues from New York City to Fort Myers. Until March 21, her interpretations of Fort Myers will be on view weekdays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Benson & Associates Interior Design, which is located at 2037 West First Street, Fort Myers, FL 33901.

Schmitz’s works also will be on display in November at the Naples Depot Museum, which is located at 1051 Fifth Avenue South in Naples.

Last year, Schmitz had a solo exhibition at the Sidney & Berne Davis Art Center and participated in the Arts for Act 2013 Fine Art Auction. She has studied with various European artists, including Bernhard Vogel, Gesine Frölich and Alexander Jeanmaire, and enjoyed exhibits in 2012 and 2009 in the Orangerie, an old green house that has been turned into a famous exhibition hall in the English Garden in the center of Munich.
