“I am thrilled to present this incredible lineup of so many iconic, Oscar-winning films,” said Roeper. “We will be celebrating some of the most memorable performances, some of the most beloved Best Picture winners–not to mention legendary scripts, unforgettable cinematography and other game-changing technical achievements. I’ll be sharing personal memories and behind the scenes anecdotes about these films, as well as my critical analysis of why they made such a splash at the Oscars, and why they hold up so well today.”
“For almost nine decades, the Oscars® have been the standard-bearers of excellence in cinema,” said Rachael Weaver, HDNET MOVIES General Manager. “Guided by the encyclopedic knowledge of acclaimed critic Richard Roeper, this comprehensive 40-film event gives viewers an opportunity to experience some of the most legendary features to win the Academy’s most prestigious honors—making it the perfect companion to this year’s upcoming Oscar® broadcast, as a new crop of films and stars prepare to make their mark on history.”
To help promote the movie event Richard Roeper will be conducting a Facebook Live Q&A on the HDNET MOVIES Facebook page on January 27th. Additionally HDNET MOVIES will be launching an Oscars personality quiz to help viewers decide which movie they should watch during the event. By taking the quiz fans will enter themselves in a contest for dinner and a movie amongst other cool prizes. Go to www.hdnetmovies.com/oscars for more info on the event.
