Los Angeles – July 17, 2017 – HDNET MOVIES presents an August programming roster packed with premieres and special events, kicking off with It’s Reigning Men, a birthday block on Tuesday, August 1, celebrating six of Hollywood’s best-loved leading men who each have a birthday this month. The festivities start at 5pE with Robert Redford in BRUBAKER; and also features Sean Penn in THE FALCON AND THE SNOWMAN at 7:15pE; Robert De Niro in Martin Scorsese’s TAXI DRIVER at 9:30pE; and Ben Affleck in the premiere of BOUNCE, at 11:30pE. Then, Patrick Swayze in RED DAWN at 1:20aE; and Richard Gere in INTERNAL AFFAIRS at 3:20aE. The block will re-air on Thursday, August 31 at 5pE.

The network puts the spotlight on seven heart-pounding movies starring Wesley Snipes, on Monday, August 7. The marathon starts at 5pE with BOILING POINT; followed by MONEY TRAIN at 6:40pE; NEW JACK CITY at 8:35pE; and PASSENGER 57 at 10:20pE. Then, Snipes steps into the ring with Ving Rhames in the premiere of UNDISPUTED at 11:50pE; and stars in MURDER AT 1600, at 1:30aE; before the marathon closes with ONE NIGHT STAND at 3:20aE. The block will re-air on Wednesday, August 23 at 5pE.

HDNET MOVIES honors the life and legacy of Philip Seymour Hoffman, presenting three of the Oscar® winner’s finest films in an A-List lineup on Thursday, August 10. The night begins with Hoffman in the network premiere of A MOST WANTED MAN at 6:50pE, followed by DOUBT, with Meryl Streep and Viola Davis, at 9pE and THE MASTER with Joaquin Phoenix at 10:50pE.

The King lives on HDNET MOVIES, as the network pays tribute to Elvis Presley on the 40TH Anniversary of his tragic death with six classic films in the Elvis 40: Honoring The King marathon on Wednesday, August 16 at 7pE.
