classical guitar
Lady and The Bard are a bluegrass and folk duo with the occasional touch of celtic and gypsy jazz. Their tunes are exhilarating and virtuosic, featuring tight vocal harmonies, and intricate finger-style guitar playing. Their performances have taken them from the small stage to the concert hall; from their hometown of Saint Petersburg, Florida to Western Europe. Jimmy Moore has been a featured performer in music festivals around the US, Canada, and Europe. He has been awarded numerous prizes in classical and finger-style guitar. His training includes a Doctor of Music degree in Classical Guitar from Florida State University (FSU). He completed he treatise on the works of America’s pioneer guitarist, Justin Holland, and has premiered numerous works by other American composers. His love for americana sprang from his desire to rediscover his roots and to explore the origins of the guitar in America. Jimmy met Michelle at FSU where she studied voice. They hit if off so well that they decided to get hitched. Her love for roots music was inspired by hearing the complex harmonies in americana recordings. They ventured forth to create Lady and The Bard to explore their love for americana together.
We hope you can join us for GuitraSarasota’s Mini-Concert & Lecture Series at Art Center Sarasota.
