Trio Voilà is a mixed ensemble comprised of a flute, a viola and a guitar. Offering a unique musical experience, this combination of instruments has a long tradition with original compositions from the 19th and 20th centuries. Along with new, groundbreaking and exciting music by contemporary composers programming can be varied and unconventional. By nature, the tone creation of a wind, bowed and plucked instrument is very different, therefore producing sound colors that cannot be created by traditional wind or string ensembles. Dr Jane Hoffman is a sought after flute teacher and soloist, who is currently on the music faculty of State College of Florida in Bradenton. She enjoys working at Sarasota County public schools, where she has been an active music pedagogue since over ten years. As a performer, Jane tours nationally and internationally, and she has worked with the Sarasota Opera Orchestra, and the Craig Turley Orchestra in Tampa. Laura Jensen-Jennings, a member of the Sarasota Orchestra, is equally talented on the viola and the violin. As the principal second violinist of the Sarasota Orchestra, Laura has enjoyed a successful career with the orchestra since many years. As a violist, she follows her passion in performing chamber music with Trio Voilá. Her passion to teach has put her in collaboration with many of Sarasota’s finest schools and music institutions. Classical guitarist, Thomas Koch as performed at venues in New York City, Berlin, and Paris. He performs with many orchestras on Florida’s west coast as soloist, and he has appears on radio and TV shows throughout the area with his fellow Trio Voilá members. Thomas is on the music faculty of State College of Florida, and Booker High School. As the founding president of GuitarSarasota, he has invited a large number of international guitar virtuosos to perform recitals in Sarasota.
