LOS ANGELES – January 17, 2017 – Rock icons The Rolling Stones reflect on the first 20 years of their legendary legacy in the rock doc CROSSFIRE HURRICANE, airing Tuesday, February 14 at 9pE/6pP, on AXS TV. The film is helmed by Oscar®-nominated documentarian Brett Morgen, and features exclusive interviews with past and present members Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, Mick Taylor, Ronnie Wood, and Bill Wyman. CROSSFIRE HURRICANE commemorates The Rolling Stones’ landmark 50TH Anniversary, using a unique format that combines rare archive footage with off-camera interviews, capturing the band’s reflections on the first 20 years of their career—spanning 1962 to 1981—in their own words.

During the candid event, the rock superstars open up about the band’s tremendous success and excess during that time, as they cover their early rise in the 1960s, and the media’s contrasting portrayal of the Stones and the Beatles; as well as the musical genius of founding member Brian Jones, and his tragic death which occurred shortly after his split from the band; the band’s headlining appearance at the infamous Altamont Free Concert—a 1969 counter-culture gathering that resulted in three accidental deaths; the recording of the critically acclaimed 1971 album EXILE ON MAIN ST.; the addition of guitarist Ronnie Wood; and much more.

“Over the last 50 years, few bands have been as important and influential as The Rolling Stones,” said Michele M. Dix, AXS TV’s senior vice president, programming and development. “CROSSFIRE HURRICANE provides a fascinating glimpse at one of their most defining periods, giving viewers a unique opportunity to hear these incredible stories from the band, themselves.”
