GREATER LOS ANGELES ZOO ASSOCIATION AND
CHILDREN’S HOSPITAL LOS ANGELES PARTNER ON “DREAMNIGHT”
TO BRING PATIENTS AND THEIR FAMILIES
TO A PRIVATE EVENT AT THE ZOO
MADE POSSIBLE BY PRESENTING SPONSOR MUNCHKIN

The Greater Los Angeles Zoo Association (GLAZA) and Children’s Hospital Los Angeles (CHLA) partner on “Dreamnight” at the L.A. Zoo for Children’s Hospital patients and their families in a private event made possible by Munchkin, the evening’s Presenting Sponsor, on Friday, June 5, 2015.  Dreamnight is part of a global charitable initiative in which zoos, aquariums and museums throughout the world partner with institutions that care for children. Approximately 1,100 guests comprised of CHLA’s patients and their families have the unique after-hours opportunity to explore a route in the Zoo featuring; up-close opportunities with animals, chats with keepers, entertainment, costumed characters and dinner.  Event sponsorships and general donations may be made to support the work of the Greater Los Angeles Zoo Association and Children’s Hospital Los Angeles.  Funds raised for CHLA benefit the Helping Hands Fund, ensuring that critical, lifesaving care is available regardless of a family’s ability to pay.  Funds raised for the Greater Los Angeles Zoo Association make an impact locally at the Zoo through its educational programs as well as globally through wide-ranging conservation efforts.

Co-Chairing “Dreamnight” are Beth Hunt Price, GLAZA Trustee and CHLA Trustee, and Kim Shepherd, long-time GLAZA supporter and CHLA Trustee.  Among members of the “Dreamnight” Advocates Committee, comprised of celebrity friends of the Los Angeles Zoo and Children’s Hospital Los Angeles, are actors Pauley Perrette, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Carolyn Hennesy, Matthew Lillard and cast members of Disney Channel’s “Dog With a Blog” TV series.  “Dreamnight” committee members include Teena Hostovich, Lori Samuels (GLAZA Trustee), Laura Wasserman (GLAZA Trustee), Tom and Maggie Simms (Mr. Simms is a CHLA Trustee), Ginger Sherak and Erika Stern (GLAZA Trustee).

Initiated in 1996 by the Rotterdam Zoo for patients from the Sophia Children’s Hospital, “Dreamnight” is now celebrated internationally every year on the first Friday of June, providing opportunities for children with disabilities and chronic illnesses to visit more than 250 educational institutions for a night of respite and entertainment.

“Dreamnight” sponsors include: Activision, Teena Hostovich, Frederick Huntsberry, Eva and Marc Stern, the Junior Ambassadors of Children’s Hospital Los Angeles, Legends, Beth Price, Kim Shepherd, Ted and Lori Samuels, Warner Bros. and DC Entertainment, PayForward, Erika Aronson and Adam Stern, Starz, Jennifer Thornton Wieland and the Los Angeles Kings.
