CULVER CITY, CA – Thursday, December 15, 2016 – getTV proudly presents a special re-broadcast of Country icon Dolly Parton’s star-studded SMOKY MOUNTAINS RISE: A BENEFIT FOR THE MY PEOPLE FUND telethon, benefiting the victims of the Gatlinburg Fires, on Monday, December 19, at 8 p.m. ET. Although other cable and streaming outlets aired the special live December 13, getTV is the only broadcast TV network to air the program nationwide.
With more than 1,300 families affected by the spreading wildfires in Parton’s hometown of Sevier County, Tennessee, the entertainment superstar established the Dollywood Foundation My People Fund to provide $1,000 in aid each month, for six months, to every family who lost their home in the devastation. The telethon was a major success drawing millions of viewers, and, the Foundation raised over $9 million in donations. While Parton served as the primary host for the evening’s festivities, she was joined throughout the night by a variety of beloved celebrity guests, appearing both in-studio and through video messages.
The event featured performances by fellow music legends such as Kenny Rogers, Hank Williams Jr., Reba McEntire, Chris Stapleton, Cyndi Lauper, Don McLean, Amy Grant, Michael W. Smith, Big & Rich, Alabama, Chris Young, Alison Krauss, and many more; as well as video appearances by Katy Perry, Carrie Underwood, Miley Cyrus, Steve Harvey, Kiefer Sutherland, Larry King, Robin Roberts, and Willie Geist. A roster of famous friends were also on-hand to answer phone calls, including TV personalities Paula Deen and Todd Chrisley; Country hit-makers Brett Young, Cassadee Pope, RaeLynn, Danielle Bradbury, and Lucas Hoge; and Tennessee Titans stars DeMarco Murray, Rishard Matthews, and Taylor Lewan, among others.

Additionally in December, the network will air six episodes from Parton’s rare 1976 series DOLLY, on Monday, December 26. Featured episodes include guest appearances by the legendary Kenny Rogers at 8 p.m. ET; followed by chart-topping baritone Tennessee Ernie Ford at 8:30 p.m. ET; and genre pioneers Linda Ronstadt and Emmylou Harris at 9 p.m. ET. Then at 9:30 p.m. ET, Parton is joined by her mother, father, and seven of her siblings, in a family show where they perform the mountain classics they grew up with. And closing out the night are two special episodes featuring soulful songstress Anne Murray at 10 p.m. ET and GRAMMY®-winning “Rose Garden” singer Lynn Anderson at 10:30 p.m. ET.
