TEXAS RANGERS SCORE ANOTHER SEASON-HIGH TV MARK
THURSDAY ON FOX SPORTS SOUTHWEST WITH 6.04 RATING
For the third consecutive night, the Texas Rangers scored another season-high television rating on FOX Sports Southwest Thursday (Sept. 17) with a 6.04 rating in Dallas-Fort Worth for their 8-2 victory over the Houston Astros that completed a four-game series sweep.
Thursday’s telecast eclipsed Wednesday’s (Sept. 16) 5.47 rating and Tuesday’s (Sept. 15) 5.34 rating, both of which were season highs before subsequently being surpassed the following day. Monday’s (Sept. 14) series opener garnered a 4.37 rating and at the time was the ninth best of the season.
Among the ratings highlights from Thursday’s game:
- It was the highest-rated Rangers game on FOX Sports Southwest since Aug. 21, 2013 when the Rangers completed a three-game sweep of the Astros and scored a 6.8 rating.
- An average of 157,300 TV homes in Dallas-Fort Worth watched Thursday’s game.
- It was the second most-watched program of the day in Dallas-Fort Worth behind CBS’ Denver Broncos-Kansas City Chiefs Thursday Night NFL game, which notched a preliminary 10.1 rating from 7:30-10:00 p.m. on KTVT.
- The four-game series sweep averaged a 5.3 rating and increased the team’s season’s ratings average on FOX Sports Southwest to 2.96.
