Florida State Representative Carlos Trujillo Urges Voters to
Just Say “No” to Amendment 2

TALLAHASSEE, FLA. (October 20, 2016) – On November 8,, 2016, Amendment 2: Florida Medical Marijuana Legalization Initiative, will appear on the general election ballot. State Representative Carlos Trujillo (R-Doral) today shared several reasons why Floridians should vote no on Amendment 2, including his concerns that the regulations will not be enforced properly, and the unintended and dangerous consequences for school-aged children, particularly with the development of edible marijuana which often look like candy or sweets but can be extremely potent drugs.

“Amendment 2 would be a disaster for Florida,” said State Rep. Carlos Trujillo. “We already know from states like California that this pot candy is extremely deceptive to children and 2,000 pot shops are the last thing Florida needs. Worst of all though, if Amendment 2 passes we won’t be able to fix it in the legislature. It will be a permanent change. I urge all Floridians to vote no on Amendment 2!”

“Thank you to Rep. Trujillo for joining Sen. Jack Latvala, five former Florida Supreme Court Justices, the Florida Chamber of Commerce, the Florida Medical Association, the Florida Sheriff’s Association, the Florida Police Chiefs Association, the Florida Farm Bureau, the Florida Baptist Convention, the Florida Conference of Catholic Bishops and many others who understand that this Amendment is nothing more than a scam,” said VOTE NO on 2 campaign spokesperson Christina Johnson. “There is nothing medical about marijuana.”

The VOTE NO on 2 Campaign’s sole purpose is to expose the Amendment 2 scam.  For more information on the VOTE NO on 2 Campaign, please visit http://www.voteno2.org/.
