About Headbang For The Highway:

HEADBANG FOR THE HIGHWAY is currently offering unsigned bands across North America the opportunity to open dates of the Summer Slaughter Tour and All-Stars Tour this summer. THE HEADBANG FOR THE HIGHWAY AND LEGATOR GUITARS PRESENTS: THE ALUMNI TOUR (March 22 through April 15), created by David Dickens, will be the battle for Summer Slaughter Tour 2015 and All-Stars Tour 2015, and is the first tour of its kind. It will feature headlining act Fire From The Gods performing on a tour nationwide while all unsigned local support bands within each market will showcase for INDUSTRY PROFESSIONALS as part of the Headbang contest. One local support band per market will be chosen to open a date of Summer Slaughter Tour or All-Stars Tour. It is easy to see why this is a huge opportunity to all unsigned bands.

The HEADBANG FOR THE HIGHWAY program is the brainchild of Sumerian Records founder and CEO, Ash Avildsen, who initially created this years ago as a scouting and developmental program for the nation’s best unsigned bands. Upon A Burning Body was one of the very first winners of this contest and are now one of the label’s most prolific artists.

THE ALUMNI TOUR will feature headliner Fire From The Gods who were chosen from over 1000 unsigned bands nationwide to best represent Headbang For The Highway’s commitment to supporting and developing artists worldwide.

The HEADBANG FOR THE HIGHWAY program works by providing all unsigned bands face-to-face meetings with real industry professionals. Immediately following a band’s performance, an industry professional (ie.label rep) will approach the band and specifically address their performance, musicianship, marketability, image and work ethic among various other things. Bands are then given advice to help them achieve their goals as well as direct contact information to the label for which they can use to forward future recordings and projects.

About Fire From The Gods:

Sextet Fire From the Gods hails from the live music capital of the world, Austin, Texas. What began as an artistic outlet a few years ago has evolved into a game-changing style and sound that encapsulates influences from all over the world. Band members AJ Channer, Chris Mardis, Bonner Baker, Drew Walker, Jameson Teat, and Richard Wicander have taken traditional metal roots to another level creating an irresistible blend of metal, hip-hop, and hardcore with vocals and riffs that pierce the soul.

While maintaining respect for their traditional influences there is no cookie-cutter trend with FFTG; the band has been shattering molds while paving the road to success. Their diversity can be attributed to having members hailing from England, Germany, and the United States; the success of this cultural convergence can be seen as the band has performed tour dates with various nationals such as Slipknot, Killswitch Engage, Tech N9ne, Atreyu, Memphis Mayfire, Hatebreed, Danzig, Five Finger Death Punch, Of Mice and Men, Hell Yeah, The Devil Wears Prada, In This Moment, and many others.
