EXCLUSIVE: How to STEAL a Hit Song – Celebrity TV Show Uncovers Fraud
USA and Canada (Jan 16, 2015) – Imagine being a finalist in a contest you never entered; former Nashville Star contestant Dani Strong never submitted for the competition to be on the new TV show “Do I Have a Hit Song” (which features hosts like Drew Copeland from Sister Hazel, Eliot Sloan from Blessid Union of Souls, Tommy Tutone, and Ryan Star from Rockstar Supernova) – but her song “Time to Breathe” certainly did; and now she has unwittingly, albeit excitedly, become a finalist on the show due to the power of the song and the fraud and plagiarism perpetrated by Croatian national and fellow Canadian resident Ivana Nosic. Ivana entered a recording of Dani Strong’s, Time to Breathe, winning a chance to perform on the show. Ivana traveled from Canada to Florida to sing on Do I Have A Hit Song, which only features original music – fully knowing she did not – and COULD NOT write or perform the song!

Available on cable TV in the US and to a worldwide audience online, this show is just different. All of the other current talent shows (American Idol, The Voice, X Factor, America’s Got Talent) mostly ask, or at least encourage, their participants to cover other artist’s songs in order for their judges to be able to best find a new singing star. Do I Have A Hit Song looks beneath the surface and searches for the best ORIGINAL songwriters. Orlando, FL based Songwriter Ashley Baker was the winner of episode one, and will be going on through to the next stage. Check her out at http://www.ashleybaker.net/

Artists can still submit their new songs for upcoming episodes (video or mp3 format)! Voting for Episode 4 is currently open.. Episode 3 contestants are chosen and will have special guest co host Ryan Star (Hit song “Stay A While”, Rockstar Supernova on TV) on Friday February 6th www.rstar.net. Episode 4 will have Chris Barron from Spin Doctors (hit song “Two Princes”).
The show gives artists a unique opportunity to publicize their music and get it distributed to the world, and with more and more television viewers migrating to online services, the number of potential viewers only looks set to rise further.
Other supporters of the show, pleased to endorse a format looking for long term talent as opposed to simply a good vocalist, include Episode One co host Eliot Sloan – founder of Blessid Union of Souls who had hits with ‘I Believe’ and ‘Hey Leonardo (She Likes Me For Me), and also involved with the production of the show. Darius Rucker (Hootie and the Blowfish), Javier Colon (winner of ‘The Voice’ in the US in 2011), Terry Nails (Ozzy Osbourne) and songwriter Edwin McCain. It’s an impressive roll call, with the show even attracting attention outside the music industry such as golfer Chris Dimarco who is among the many people excited to see the new music that comes through the program. At the end of the series, the winning act will see their submission professionally recorded and produced by Musik and Film Production team www.musikandfilm.com/producers and http://www.musikandfilm.com before it’s released worldwide and supported by international radio promotion, video promotion www.musikradiopromotions.com and full physical and digital distribution.
Additionally, the winner will have the full support of http://www.indimusic.tv – the online channel which shows the program and has over 800,000 members in its network – including a Spotlight Segment and Artist Feature on the site for the full month following the end of the contest. They will also receive a custom Montarado acoustic guitar (valued at $10,500), and a custom made Toneville amplifier (valued at $2,000) – plus official endorsements from both companies. Second and third place artists will have the chance to release and promote their own songs through a full PR campaign with Musik Radio Promotions www.musikradiopromotions.com 2nd place will also win a Montarado TimberKaster custom made electric guitar valued at $5,500).
In addition to the grand prize winners, there will be a variety of perks offered to other deserving songwriters, for instance one songwriter/artist will win an opening slot with a major touring artist of their genre and publishing deals will also be offered to some artists, as well (at the producers’ discretion).
