Featuring breathtaking underwater landscapes, this inspirational documentary follows individuals with disabilities as they discover new ways to experience freedom of movement through water sports, including scuba diving, surfing and swimming with dolphins. Participants include renowned “soul surfer” Bethany Hamilton and Olympic gold medalist Missy Franklin. Narrated by Jean-Michel Cousteau and his son Fabien, lifelong champions of the healing power of the world’s oceans.

Soul Surfer author and renowned surfer Bethany Hamilton takes part in this inspiring documentary that showcases the accomplishments of people with disabilities.  The film tells the story of six athletes, soldiers and individuals who use water sports to ultimately discover freedom of movement.  In addition to Bethany, the film also includes Olympic swimmer Missy Franklin, NCAA Wrestling Champion Anthony Robles, and is narrated by Jean-Michael Cousteau and his son Fabien.

 

EPIX will be hosting a screening of the original documentary at this years REELABILITIES: NY Disabilities Film Festival, the largest festival dedicated to promoting awareness and appreciate of the lives and stories of people with disabilities.  Bethany will be attending the screening of the film and joining Jean-Michel Cousteau and war veteran Jesse Murphree for a special conversation after the film.
