EARTH DAY “PARTY FOR THE PLANET” IS SUNDAY, APRIL 26 AT SAINT LOUIS ZOO
Enjoy live entertainment, fun educational activities, keeper chats and more at Earth Day: Party for the Planet from 11 to 3 p.m. on Sunday, April 26 at the Saint Louis Zoo.
Kids can learn how to take action and become a superhero for the planet at Earth Day stations around the Zoo. Pick up a map of events at the Zoo’s north or south entrance, visit at least three stations to gain your “powers” to defend the planet and then claim your prize at either entrance.
Hear live entertainment by Bottom’s Up Blues Gang in Schnuck Family Plaza. Don’t miss special keeper chats, training demonstrations and feedings at various animal exhibits throughout the day. Visit stlzoo.org/earthday for a complete schedule.
The St. Louis chapter of American Association of Zoo Keepers (AAZK) will collect unwanted cell phones, accessories and hand-held electronics. The recycled materials keep items out of landfills and are used to produce new devices without taking resources from habitats where endangered species would be disturbed. The funds AAZK receives for recycling go to support conservation projects worldwide. Cell phones can be donated daily at the Welcome Desks at both Zoo entrances.
Admission to the Saint Louis Zoo and Earth Day activities is free. Admission to the Children’s Zoo is $4 for ages 2 and up. The Zoo is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. For more information, visit stlzoo.org. For information on St. Louis Earth Day Festival in Forest Park, visit stlouisearthday.org.
