Friday, August 28, 2015 // Toronto, ON – Massey Hall is pleased to announce that Amy Helm & The Handsome Strangers will join Grammy Award-winning duo Emmylou Harris and Rodney Crowell as special guests on Thursday, September 17, part of The Traveling Kind tour.
Amy Helm has won widespread praise as a singer, songwriter and live performer, first as a member of the celebrated alt-country collective Ollabelle and subsequently for her extensive work with her father, musical icon Levon Helm, including two Massey Hall appearances when Helm, Sr.’s Ramble on the Road passed through Toronto. Ms. Helm has been captivating audiences with her deeply expressive voice and uncanny songwriting that instinctively draws upon a deep well of American musical traditions, and was reintroduced to the world this July as a solo artist with her debut album, Didn’t It Rain (eOne Music), which also marked her father’s final recording sessions.
