EMMY® WINNING ANIMATION EXECUTIVE MARGARET M. DEAN
JOINS STOOPID BUDDY STOODIOS AS GENERAL MANAGER
Los Angeles, CA – August 10, 2015 – Looking to bolster its senior management team as the company expands its operations in key growth areas, Stoopid Buddy Stoodios, announced today that Daytime Emmy® winner and veteran entertainment executive Margaret M. Dean (“Back at the Barnyard,” “The Ricky Gervais Show,” “Scooby-Doo and the Legend of the Vampire”) has been hired to oversee the company’s day-to-day business operations as General Manager, working closely with studio founders Seth Green, John Harvatine IV, Matthew Senreich and Eric Towner.
Home to some of the finest talent in all of animation, Stoopid Buddy Stoodios, is known for creating highly unique visuals and telling character driven stories with an uncanny sensibility, having created the longest running stop-motion show on television, “Robot Chicken,” as well as Sony Crackle’s upcoming “SuperMansion” with Bryan Cranston, an all-new “BRATZ “webs series, the upcoming “Camp WWE” Mattel’s “WWE Slam City,” Denny’s “The Grand Slams,” L/Studio’s “Friendship All-Stars,” and MAD’s stop-motion “Spy vs. Spy,” among many others.
Margaret M. Dean will be based in the company’s Burbank studio headquarters and work with the executive team to lead strategic growth initiatives for the company, including its accelerated expansion in the 2D and CGI animation spaces.

Prior to Stoopid Buddy Stoodios, Dean served as Director of Production for Mattel, Inc.’s entertainment division, Playground Productions. During her tenure, she oversaw the expansion of the animation division at one of the largest toy companies in the world, supervising the production of over 1,500 minutes of animation content in all media including CGI, harmony, flash and stop-motion.
Previously, Dean served as General Manager for Wildbrain Animation Studio where she was responsible for expanding the company’s business in original content development and long form production. In addition, she maintained the company’s TV commercial business and provided support for the company’s day-to-day operations.
Before Wildbrain Animation Studio, Dean served as VP of Animation for Technicolor/Thompson with the task of creating an animation service business, which was a new endeavor for the media company.
Dean established the television arm of Omation Studios for Steve Oedekirk and produced “Back at the Barnyard,” which garnered her a Daytime Emmy® Award, that aired on Nickelodeon.
Prior to Omation Studios, Dean was a producer at Warner Brothers Animation. During her tenure, she worked on a variety of projects including “What’s New Scooby Doo?” “Mucha Lucha” and “Coconut Fred’s Fruit Salad Island.” In addition to her producing responsibilities, Dean also served as a consultant on a variety of production strategies on all Warner Brothers Animation projects.
Dean also served as Director of Animation production at Sony Pictures Television Animation. Under her guidance, the division entered the digital age, which required moving content to digital ink and paint, producing 40 half hours of 100% CGI animation (“Roughneck Chronicles:Starship Troopers”) and starting the use of Flash software for broadcast production.
Dean began her career working in TV animation on “The Ren and Stimpy Show” as a production assistant but was quickly promoted to Production Manager within 18 months.
