New York, NY – The upcoming 2016-17 season marks the Emerson String Quartet’s 40th Anniversary — a major milestone for a ground-breaking ensemble that has earned its place in the pantheon of the classical chamber music world. In celebration of this anniversary season, Universal Music Group has reissued their entire Deutsche Grammophon discography in a 52-CD box set, released July 15 in the U.S.
On August 1, the Emerson Quartet performs two concerts with eminent pianist Emanuel Ax in their first-ever Mostly Mozart performances together at Lincoln Center. Their programs include works by Schubert, Dvořák, Beethoven, Purcell and Mozart (please see full concert details below).
