(New York – May 4th) Having just released her critically-acclaimed debut album LOVE STUFF in February, pop, blues, and rock’n’roll singer Elle King today releases a second song, a cover of “American Girl,” The Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers classic, featured in upcoming film Hot Pursuit starring Reese Witherspoon and Sofía Vergara, in theaters May 8th. The song was produced by David Bassett and written by Grammy-Award winning artist Hillary Scott of Lady Antebellum along with Charlie Peacock, Sara Chrenow and Todd Clark. Elle recently performed her current single “Ex’s & Oh”s on The Today Show and on the Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon and Late Night With Seth Meyers.
